Mintz Member Stephen Akerley was a featured speaker at the second annual Litigation Finance Dealmakers Forum, held in Manhattan from September 18-19.

Mr. Akerley spoke on a September 19 panel titled “Litigation Finance in the Legal Department: In-House Perspectives,” which addressed trends in corporate adoption of litigation finance, matching deal structures with business situations, and top considerations and challenges that businesses face when using the practice, among other topics.

Law360 covered the forum and included a quote from Mr. Akerley during his panel. “It's important to involve outside counsel as early on in the process as possible, especially for complicated cases involving patent and antitrust matters,” he said.
