The Northeast Clean Energy Council's (NECEC) 9th Annual Green Tie Gala Recap
The Northeast Clean Energy Council’s (NECEC) 9th Annual Green Tie Gala was recently held on October 25, 2016 in Boston, Massachusetts. The Green Tie Gala is the premier clean energy networking event in the region, bringing together more than 500 stakeholders from the Northeast clean energy community to celebrate the industry’s growth and accomplishments and to recognize outstanding clean energy companies with NECEC’s Green Tie Gala Awards. Following a banner year for renewables in Rhode Island, NECEC was honored that Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo provided the keynote address. NECEC was also pleased to announce that ten clean energy companies and organizations were selected finalists for this year’s Green Tie Gala Awards. Among the finalists, the awards honored Schneider Electric (clean energy company of the year), Deepwater Wind (emerging company of the year), and ACRE (startup supporter of the year) for their leadership and contributions to the region’s leading clean energy economy.
We congratulate all three winners including our client, Deepwater Wind. Deepwater Wind is a wind project developer based out of Providence, Rhode Island and built the first offshore wind project in the U.S.: the five-turbine Block Island Wind Project was completed this summer off of Rhode Island’s coast. Congratulations to the winners and finalists at the Green Tie Gala! We are excited to see the continued success of all members of the clean energy community in the northeast region.
