USCIS Announces Extended Deadlines for Petitioners/Applicants to Respond to RFEs and NOIDs
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the numerous travel bans and “shelter in place” orders which have been recently announced, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced today that it will extend certain filing deadlines by 60 days.
For Applicants and Petitioners who receive a Request for Evidence (RFE) or Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) dated between March 1, 2020 and May 1, 2020, USCIS will consider any responses filed within 60 calendar days after the response deadline set forth in the RFE or NOID to be timely filed.
This extended deadline policy will allow Attorneys and Foreign Nationals to have sufficient time to finalize and file their RFE and NOID responses to USCIS given the current travel and business disruptions brought on by the COVID-16 pandemic.
