Derek has a broad corporate practice that encompasses debt financing, mergers & acquisitions, capital markets and securities law, advising venture capital firms and emerging companies, and other corporate transactions. He has experience in preparing loan documents for debt financings, merger agreements, and securities filings.
During law school, Derek worked as a summer associate and a summer intern at Mintz. While working in those positions, he drafted documents for and assisted with various corporate transactions, prepared licensing and nondisclosure agreements, and conducted due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
Before law school, Derek worked for a publicly traded commercial bank, most recently as a vice president of commercial lending. In that role, he managed a commercial real estate portfolio and generated commercial loans to real estate developers and businesses.
