Doris is a registered patent agent who prepares and prosecutes patent applications in the life science and chemical industries, with a focus on small molecule modulators. She also works on due diligence reviews, including validity and freedom to operate analyses.
Before joining Mintz, Doris was a medicinal chemist at Dart NeuroScience, a San Diego pharmaceutical company that specialized in memory disorder. In that role, she worked on structure-activity relationship studies related to a phosphodiesterase inhibitor for the improvement of memory-related disorders and used computational tools to design scaffolds for cognitive therapeutic targets.
In her Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) postdoctoral fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Doris collaborated on an investigation focused on utilizing continuous flow technology to streamline the synthesis of the antiretroviral drug tenofovir.
