James is litigator whose practice is focused on complex commercial disputes, white collar defense, and government investigations. He has advised clients in all stages of litigation including pleadings, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, and appeals. He has also served as an integral member of trial teams in both state and federal courts.
Prior to joining Mintz, James was an associate in the Washington, DC office of a global law firm, where his practice focused on litigating a wide array of cross-border disputes, including on behalf of foreign governments and publicly-traded foreign corporations.
While in law school, James served as a Judicial Intern to Honorable Judge Craig S. Iscoe, Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and as the Executive Managing Editor of The George Washington International Law Review.
Experience
- Secured multi-million dollar judgment on behalf of client in longstanding coverage dispute against insurers and excess insurers
- Served as member of trial team for a 3.5 week long jury trial involving breach of contract claims in a licensing dispute
- Represented companies in connection with Department of Justice investigations into potential violations of the Controlled Substances Act
