John Eagle focuses his practice on telecommunication matters involving broadband and internet services and future wireless networks. He has experience drafting legal memoranda on emerging technology issues, including artificial intelligence, and assisting with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) matters.

 

Prior to joining Mintz, John Eagle served as a justice fellow with Georgetown Law’s Institute for Technology Law & Policy, where he drafted memoranda on legal issues involving artificial intelligence and access to broadband and internet services.

 

During law school, John Eagle interned in the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau's Broadband Division of the FCC, where he helped with the comment review process for proposed and promulgated rulemakings, including proposals for 5G network expansions. He was also selected as a scholar with the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Strategic Hub for Innovation and Financial Tech. In that role, he focused on cryptocurrency issues. In addition, he served as a congressional intern for US Representative James Clyburn (D-SC), who was then the majority whip.

 

In law school, John Eagle served as the senior notes editor of the Georgetown Law Technology Review. He also served as a student attorney with the school’s Communications & Technology Law Clinic, advocating for a petition with the Federal Trade Commission regarding children’s engagement in social media and gaming applications.
