Ryan is an intellectual property attorney who focuses his practice on patent litigation before federal district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the US International Trade Commission, and the Federal Circuit. He represents clients in a wide variety of industries, including life sciences and technology.
Ryan has significant experience with all aspects of patent litigation, including pre-litigation investigations, litigation, and appeals. He also handles all phases of Hatch-Waxman litigation and inter partes review proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Prior to joining Mintz, Ryan was an intellectual property litigation associate at an international law firm, where he advised clients in a broad spectrum of IP disputes.
While earning his JD, Ryan served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Mark C. Gildea, an associate justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court. In law school, he served as lead articles editor of the Suffolk University Law Review and a law student ambassador to the Boston Bar Association. He also received Suffolk Law’s Jurisprudence Award in Property and was recognized in the Legal Practice Skills Program with the Honorable Mention Oral Advocate Award and an Honorable Mention in the Best Brief Award category.
