Ryan assists clients across a range of industries on domestic and foreign intellectual property matters. His practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, as well as strategic counseling on patent issues, including invalidity and infringement analyses, and due diligence investigations. Ryan’s experience covers a wide range of technologies, such as medical devices, robotics, consumer products, and life sciences.
Ryan earned his JD with a concentration in Intellectual Property from the University of New Hampshire. While in law school, he served as Lead Articles Editor of IDEA: The Law Review of the Franklin Pierce Center for Intellectual Property. During his first summer, Ryan interned in-house at a medical technology company focused on women’s health. In that role, he worked with technologies such as 2D and 3D mammography, ultrasound systems, CT scanners, and biopsy devices. In his second summer of law school, Ryan joined Mintz as a Summer Associate.
While pursuing his BS in Physics, Ryan worked in a biophysics lab researching the visual processing and motion-tracking capabilities of bluebottle flies through careful probing of the H1 neuron.
