Wendy is a registered patent agent with a background in molecular biology and more than 25 years of experience prosecuting US and international patents for clients across the life sciences sector, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and biomedical device companies. She works with public and private companies ranging from start-ups to large corporations, as well as academic institutions and nonprofit organizations.

Wendy has extensive experience in the areas of molecular biology, cancer biology, immunology, pharmacology, and biomedical devices. She has prepared and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications in the biotechnology and life sciences industries, including medical treatments employing umbilical cord blood, antibodies, adoptive cell therapies, nucleic acid-based therapeutics, and engineered pharmaceutical compositions. In addition, Wendy advises clients on IP issues involving CRISPR-based epigenetics, plant-based foods, recombinant pharmaceutical compositions, genetically engineered microorganisms, and cultured meat. Her practice also encompasses strategic portfolio development, patent portfolio management, due diligence, and counseling clients on a variety of intellectual property issues, including patentability and freedom to operate.

Prior to joining Mintz, Wendy worked as a patent agent at several global and national law firms. Throughout her career, she has advised clients on strategically prosecuting patent applications in China and assisted in technology licensing and patent dispute matters involving Chinese entities.
