Zhiheng is a registered patent agent with a research background and work experience in computer science. His practice encompasses US and international patent prosecution, strategic patent counseling, and patentability analysis. He also assists with US Patent Trial and Appeal Board procedures, including interferences, reexamination proceedings, inter partes reviews, post-grant reviews, and ex parte appeals.

Zhiheng works with clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including life sciences, technology, artificial intelligence, digital health, blockchain and cryptocurrency, cleantech, semiconductors, entertainment, gaming, retail and consumer products, and higher education. His technology experience spans the areas of software development, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, computer vision, VR/AR, cybersecurity, blockchain technology, Internet of Things, robotics and automation, aerospace, CAD/CAM, manufacturing, medical devices, and imaging technologies.

Prior to joining Mintz, Zhiheng worked as a technical specialist at a global law firm, where he handled a wide array of patent matters, including assisting clients in patent portfolio management. In various internships, he also worked as a quality assurance engineer, back-end developer, and front-end engineer, gaining experience with software composition analysis (SCA) and developing a graphical user interface (GUI) for a mobile web application.

Zhiheng holds a master’s degree in applied computer science with a concentration in artificial intelligence & machine learning. While earning his MS, he wrote a thesis titled “Automatic Joint Space Width Measurement for Hand Osteoarthritis: A Deep Learning Approach.”
