Guiding A Community Charity Through Altering Governance Changes

In 2021, Mintz lawyer Katy Pitch joined the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, one of the largest community charities in the city. Driven by a commitment to pro bono work that positively impacts children, Katy discovered the organization needed legal support. Initially assisting with day-to-day governance issues, she provided essential guidance when Ontario’s not-for-profit legislation changed in October 2023, helping Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto navigate new governance requirements.
