Alok Choksi Joins Mintz’s Securities and Capital Markets Practice
Alok Choksi has joined as Member in Mintz’s Securities and Capital Markets Practice in the firm’s New York office. Alok is a corporate attorney with extensive experience representing investment banks and domestic and foreign private issuers in equity securities offerings and strategic investments.
“Following ten consecutive years of record revenue and profits, Mintz continues to attract top talent across the firm,” said Bob Bodian, Mintz’s Managing Member. “Alok’s deep experience in securities and capital markets further enhances our corporate practice in New York and nationally.”
A significant portion of Alok’s practice involves handling securities offerings for investment banks and domestic and foreign private issuers in life sciences and other industries. His work in this area focuses on registered offerings, such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, confidentially marketed public offerings, registered direct offerings, and at-the-market offering programs. He also advises clients on private placements, including 4(a)(2) offerings, private investments in public equity (PIPEs), and 144A/Regulation S offerings. Additionally, clients regularly seek Alok’s guidance on securities compliance and corporate governance matters.
“Alok is a great addition to our growing capital markets team,” said Bill Hicks, co-chair of Mintz’s Life Sciences Practice. John Rudy, co-chair of Mintz’s Securities and Capital Markets Practice, added that “Alok’s impressive experience advising investment banks and issuers on equity offerings will provide great value to our firm’s client base.”
“I’m excited to join this talented and collaborative team,” said Alok Choksi. “I have had the opportunity to work alongside several Mintz attorneys over the years and have seen firsthand their deep understanding of the particular challenges in bringing a company to the public markets.”
Prior to joining Mintz, Alok was a partner in the Capital Markets and Securities Practice Group at Haynes Boone and previously served as an Associate at White & Case.
Alok earned his B.A., magna cum laude, from University of Pennsylvania and his M.S. in Finance from Vanderbilt University. He received his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School, where he later served as an adjunct professor.
Alok is the eleventh new Member to join Mintz since the start of the year, following the announcements of Adam Banack, Geoffrey Cher, Daniel Cowan, Emily Y. Fan, Danielle Frappier, Tawfik Goma, Alex Kaufman, Mark Lerner, Amit Singh, and Luis F. Torres.
