
Alok, a versatile corporate attorney with a broad-based corporate and securities law practice, has extensive experience representing investment banks and domestic and foreign private issuers in equity securities offerings and strategic investments. He advises clients in a wide range of industries, including life sciences, biopharma, biotech, retail and consumer products, education, energy, health care, media, telecommunications, oil and gas, shipping, aviation, and technology.
A significant portion of Alok’s practice involves handling securities offerings for investment banks and all types of issuers, including special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs). His work in this area focuses on registered offerings, such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, confidentially marketed public offerings, registered direct offerings, and at-the-market offering programs. He also advises clients on private placements, including 4(a)(2) offerings, private investments in public equity (PIPEs), and 144A/Regulation S offerings.
Clients also regularly seek Alok’s guidance on securities compliance and corporate governance matters.
Prior to joining Mintz, Alok was a partner at a prominent national firm. In addition to his practice, Alok has served as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt Law School.

- Represented Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, and Citigroup, as representatives of the underwriters, in connection with joint-stock company Kaspi.kz’s $1 billion IPO and listing on Nasdaq.
- Represented J.P. Morgan, Leerink Partners, BofA Securities, Evercore Group, and RBC Capital Markets, as representatives of the underwriters, in the $460 million equity follow-on offering of Intra-Cellular Therapies, Inc.
- Represented Jefferies, as sales agent, in connection with the establishment of the “at-the-market” (ATM) offering program relating to the periodic issuance and sale of shares of common stock with aggregate sale proceeds of up to $250 million for Wave Life Sciences Ltd.
- Represented Barclays Capital and Cantor Fitzgerald, as placement agents, in connection with the approximately $24 million registered direct offering of common stock, pre-funded warrants, and warrants for Sangamo Therapeutics, Inc.
- Represented Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Itau BBA, as representatives of the underwriters, in connection with the $112.0 million equity follow-on offering for Arco Platform Limited.
- Represented BofA Securities, Jefferies, and Leerink Partners, as representatives of the underwriters, in connection with the approximately $100.0 million equity follow-on offering of shares of common stock and pre-funded warrants for Kura Oncology, Inc.
- Represented Guggenheim Securities, as representative of the underwriters, in the $75 million equity follow-on offering for Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, Inc.
- Represented Oppenheimer & Co., as representative of the underwriters, in Backblaze, Inc.’s $115 million IPO.
- Represented Gambling.com Group Limited and the selling shareholders in connection with the secondary only equity follow-on offering of approximately $40 million.
- Represented Tufin Software Technologies Ltd. in connection with the secondary only equity follow-on offering of approximately $73 million.
- Represented Oatly Group AB in connection with its $430 million of financing commitments, consisting of a private placement of $300 million convertible notes, and commitment letters for a $130 million term loan B credit facility and a SEK 2.1 billion amended sustainable revolving credit facility.
