Mintz Continues Growth in San Francisco with the Addition of Thomas Earnest

Thomas Earnest has joined Mintz as a Member of the Corporate practice in the firm’s San Francisco office. Mr. Earnest has more than a decade of experience providing strategic legal and business guidance to clients ranging from start-ups to late stage private and public companies. Primarily serving private and public technology, video gaming, digital media, and retail and consumer products companies, he regularly counsels clients in a range of mission-critical transactions, including company and entity formation, venture and private equity financing, and mergers & acquisitions (M&A).

“Mintz is committed to helping technology leaders and their investors thrive,” said Bob Bodian, Mintz’s Managing Member. “Thomas has extensive experience in this area that will be a terrific asset to Mintz’s market-leading corporate practice and our growing San Francisco office.”

Throughout his career, Thomas has advised on transactions with an aggregate value of more than $45 billion. Prior to joining Mintz, Thomas founded and served as managing partner of a boutique San Francisco law firm focused on M&A, private equity, and venture financing transactions. Earlier, Thomas was an associate in the M&A practice of a premier New York City–based law firm and then in the San Francisco office of a multinational law firm.

“Thomas brings a unique combination of big law and entrepreneurial experience” said Stephen Osborn, Managing Member of Mintz’s San Francisco office. “His arrival complements Mintz’s existing tech sector strengths and enhances our ability to serve our increasing roster of growth stage clients in the Bay area and beyond.”

Thomas earned his law degree from the New York University School of Law, and his Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to law school, Thomas was a Fulbright Scholar in Tunis, Tunisia.

“The Mintz platform provides access to award-winning lawyers across transactional, regulatory and litigation disciplines that allows me to offer my clients a full suite of legal services to help them grow throughout their business lifecycles,” said Earnest. “I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues at Mintz to further build my practice and continue delivering successful client results.”

Mr. Earnest represents the most recent addition to Mintz’s growing San Francisco office, which was recognized last month by The San Francisco Business Times and Silicon Valley Business Journal as one of the 2024 Best Places to Work in the Bay Area.
