Thomas is a versatile and sought-after corporate attorney with more than a decade of experience providing strategic legal and business guidance to clients ranging from start-ups to late stage private and public companies. Primarily serving private and public technology, video gaming, digital media, and retail and consumer products companies, he regularly counsels clients in a range of mission-critical transactions, including company and entity formation, venture and private equity financing, and mergers & acquisitions.
A trusted advisor to more than 75 venture-backed companies and investment funds, Thomas is equally adept at helping founders navigate early-stage financing rounds and steering clients through the complexities of selling a company. Throughout his career, Thomas has advised on transactions with an aggregate value of more than $45 billion. He also serves as the outside general counsel for many of his clients.
Prior to joining Mintz, Thomas founded and served as managing partner of a boutique San Francisco law firm focused on M&A, private equity, and venture financing transactions. Earlier, Thomas was an associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice of a premier New York City–based law firm and then in the San Francisco office of a multinational law firm.
