Emily represents clients across a broad spectrum of industries, including emerging technologies in various sectors, SaaS, automotive, health, telecommunications, professional services, banking, and real estate.

Leveraging her keen business judgment, Emily provides creative yet pragmatic solutions to challenges arising in disputes and all phases of litigation. She also provides strategic advice to preempt litigation. Emily has extensive experience representing clients before all levels of court in Ontario, Canadian federal courts, and regulatory bodies. She frequently handles bankruptcy and insolvency matters, including serving as counsel to creditors and various court-appointed officers.

Emily has been recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for corporate commercial litigation and her work involving director and officer liability. She has also been consistently recommended by The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory in the corporate and commercial litigation category and was named to Lexpert’s “Rising Stars: Leading Lawyers Under 40” list.

Prior to joining Mintz, Emily was the Deputy Practice Group Leader of the Dispute Resolution and Advocacy Group at a top Toronto litigation boutique.

  • Served as counsel to creditors and receivers in various receiverships relating to real estate developments.
  • Defence counsel to major accounting firms in various matters including public inquiries, and contractual disputes.
  • Counsel to a national telecommunications company in various contractual disputes.
  • Served as counsel to one of North America’s largest vehicle processing and transshipment facilities in a contractual and alleged negligence dispute.
  • Served as counsel to the receiver in receiverships of Bondfield-related companies.
  • Counsel to an emerging technologies company in various product disputes.
  • Defence counsel in high-stakes fraud claims.
  • Counsel to one of North America’s largest private developers in various contractual disputes and a dispute within a third-party restructuring proceeding.
  • Counsel to shareholders in complex oppression actions involving commercial real estate.    
  • Counsel to majority shareholders in an oppression action relating to hospitality businesses
  • Defended General Motors in a breach of contract claim brought by a former supplier. 
  • Served as defense counsel in Canadian national class action proceedings involving Volkswagen TDI.
