Tim focuses his intellectual property practice on patent litigation and strategic IP counseling.
Tim has represented clients in federal district courts throughout the United States and before the US International Trade Commission, the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He advises clients and participates in all phases of litigation, from initial investigation and discovery through trial and appeal, and has litigated cases involving a broad range of technologies, with a particular focus on matters involving electrical and computer systems. He also handles cases relating to internet services and systems, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and mechanical devices.
Tim also advises clients on patent acquisitions and licenses and provides opinions on patent infringement and validity issues.
Prior to joining Mintz, Tim was an associate in the Intellectual Property Litigation group of an international law firm, where he represented clients in patent and other intellectual property-related disputes. Earlier, Tim was an associate at a patent litigation boutique in New York and at a global law firm.
While attending law school, Tim served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Arthur J. Gajarsa, then a judge of the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and an intellectual property intern in the Office of the General Counsel of a multinational information management and storage company. In law school, Tim served as the lead articles editor of IDEA: The Intellectual Property Law Review.
