Altamira Turns To Mintz For Guidance on VaST Acquisition
Mintz has acted as deal counsel to Altamira Technologies Corporation in its acquisition of signals intelligence mission business, Virginia Systems & Technology (VaST).
The acquisition sees Altamira, a ClearSky portfolio company, gain new capabilities in end-to-end SIGINT tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination (TCPED), National/Tactical SIGINT collaborative mission constellation management, and emerging threat identification. In addition, VaST’s software developers, data scientists, operations scientists, mission integrators, and analysts will join Altamira.
Member Jim McKnight led the deal team for Altamira at Mintz, which also included Venture Capital Co-Chair and Technology Chair Dan DeWolf, Member Joseph Ronca, Associates Maarten Tuurenhout, and Lauren Bergstrom, and Law Clerks Kim Green, and Mayra Mammana.
This is the latest deal for Mintz’s Mergers & Acquisitions practice this year and comes against a busy 2022 when the team advised on 78 transactions with an aggregate value of $11.9 billion for clients in technology, life sciences, energy & sustainability, and other sectors.
Mintz’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice includes an interdisciplinary group of more than 100 professionals from many areas of specialization, including corporate, tax, intellectual property, employee benefits, environmental, regulatory, real estate, antitrust, and others. The firm’s portfolio of successful deals includes transactions of virtually every size and type, from large public-to-public mergers to sales of private venture-backed businesses to negotiated and contested transactions and domestic, international, and cross-border transactions.
